Rental energy efficiency readiness
Help for landlords and property managers getting rentals ready for Victoria’s new minimum energy efficiency standards — before the next lease.
What we check
A clear checklist for each property
The rental standards are features-based — insulation, efficient heating, cooling and hot water, showerheads and draught sealing — not a NatHERS certificate requirement. We check each property against them and tell you what needs doing.
- Walkthrough against the standards, with photos
- Pass / action needed for each item
- Optional blower door test and thermal imaging to find draughts
- Optional existing home NatHERS rating
Timing: new standards start applying from 1 March 2027, with draught sealing from 1 July 2027. Always confirm current rules at consumer.vic.gov.au.
FAQ
Common questions
Does my rental need a NatHERS rating?
No. The standards are features-based. An existing home rating is optional but can help plan upgrades.
Can you check several properties?
Yes. We can check a portfolio and rank which properties need work first.
